Pheasant, Dove, and Duck (1997) are unique multiples in glass, epoxy, pewter, and pigment. Zlamany used her drawings and photographs of dead birds to meticulously fabricate each piece in clear glass using a hot-sculpture technique; they were then sandblasted, individually painted with epoxy (pigmented yellow for Duck), and fitted with pewter feet cast from real birds.
Pheasant measures 3½ x 5 x 17 in. and is in an edition of seven with two artist’s proofs; Dove, 3 x 3 x 10 in.; and Duck, 3 x 3¾ x 9 ⅝ in., is in an edition of twelve with five artist’s proofs. They were fabricated by the artist, Jonathan Christie, Peggy Scott, and Warren Trefz at Round World Projects in Denver, Colorado.
